It's grown my attitude on worship leaps and bounds...it is a huge blessing in my life. :)
KateAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7451114918953404206.post-35927867266157745762011-04-12T18:31:08.204-04:002011-04-12T18:31:08.204-04:00@Kate - You are totally right that many people exp...@Kate - You are totally right that many people expect worship to do something for them, when it is meant to be a chance for them to bring something to God. That's a keen observation, it wouldn't be because you're a worship leader, would it? ;)

@Lisa Thanks for taking the time to stop by Lisa! I've enjoyed reading your blog as well. I often times liken my life to a song. So...Ah, yes. I often times liken my life to a song. So much of the time, the song of my heart simply radiates throughout my day. I find myself humming some sort of worship music or I find myself making up a new set of lyrics, and new chorus unto Him. It is as if I can never shut out the song-not that I want to-but I can't; it's engrained in my heart. I have long believed that so many Christians show up to church expecting worship to TAKE them away to special place, and maybe worship sometimes has that effect on us, but I have always been a little annoyed when blame is placed on the music or the vocals or that prayer that was prayed during the service if it is unable to take individuals to a 'special place' when the individual has done nothing to commune with God in their own lives. Since when is my relationship and my worship for Christ supposed to be soley contingent upon another person's relationship with Christ. It is a cancer in the church today, I think, where Christians show up and say 'What is church doing for me today?' Rather, I believe, like this piece is about, that people need to be showing up to church, already having spent every moment with the King. It can't be a ten minute thing before church that gets me ready to worship. It can't be that I am looking for the church or the music to bring me to a place of readiness to commune with the Father, but rather, the daily song of our heart needs to be one sung unto God...it is what we do in our daily lives that allows us to show up to church and worship alongside our brothers and sisters. Can you imagine what would happen if everyone came prepared? Can you imagine the sound of worship that would bounce off of earth and bring glory directly to our Father? How powerful, if living daily, worshipping God, our sound would be when we come together and unite in song for Him. How mighty a force for Him if we worshipped Him daily and not just on a Sunday morning...

Beautiful thoughts, again!!
KateAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
